ABOUT YUNG GRAVY

Yung Gravy, aka Matthew Hauri, was born in Rochester, Minnesota in 1996. He began rapping whilst attending the University of Wisconsin.

CAREER

Inspired by Lil Yachty and Lil Peep, Yung Gravy began uploading his tracks to SoundCloud and, in 2016, quit his job to concentrate on his music. During this period, he spent months self-recording tracks. In 2017, his song "Mr. Clean" gained traction on SoundCloud, having been released on an EP of the same name the previous year, and it has since been certified platinum by the RIAA. That year, he followed with two more EPs – Yung Gravity and Baby Gravy (with bbno$). 2018 saw the release of Snow Cougar – his first EP on Republic – which saw "Mr. Clean" really take off, and which launched another platinum hit: “1 Thot 2 Thot Red Thot Blue Thot.”

Yung Gravy’s debut album, Sensational, was released on May 31, 2019. The album features guest appearances from  bbno$, Juicy J, Pouya, and Lil Baby, among others. It reached number 30 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. His third and most recent album, Gasanova, was released on October 2, 2020 and features appearances from Ski Mask the Slump God, TrippythaKid, Bobby Raps, Young Dolph, bbno$, Chief Keef, and Y2K. It hit number 27 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
