Born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, country music runs in Jordan Davis’ family – his uncle Stan Paul Davis, wrote Tracy Lawrence's hit singles "Today's Lonely Fool" and "Better Man, Better Off" and his brother, Jacob Davis, is also a country singer.
After graduating from Louisiana State University in 2012 with a degree in environmental science, Davis moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career in music. After four years of performing on the local circuit, he signed to Universal Music Group Nashville in 2016. "Singles You Up", his debut single, was released on June 6, 2017. The single peaked at number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and hit number four on the Country Singles chart. It was also certified platinum in the US and double-platinum in Canada and charted on the Billboard Hot 100. "Take It from Me", the album’s second single, was released to country radio on May 7, 2018. It reached number two on the US Country Airplay chart, number four on the Hot Country Songs chart, and hit the Billboard Hot 100, staying on the chart for 13 weeks. The album's third single, "Slow Dance in a Parking Lot", was released in April 2019 and gave Davis his second number one hit on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
In November 2019, Davis released the song "Cool Anymore", featuring Julia Michaels. This was followed by the singles "Detours" and "Almost Maybes". He followed with a self-titled EP in May 2022.
July 2021 saw the release of the single "Buy Dirt" with Luke Bryan. It hit the top spot on both the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts and reached number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single was preceded by an EP of the same name.
